Anonymous — We tried this a couple times and used round watermelons of different sizes. Smaller melons make thicker sauce and smaller portions. Whatever is available to you should work fine. However, we never tried one of those gigantic, oval-shaped ones.
This is so yummy! I added extra spices (chilli, nutmeg and coriander seed) and red onion, celery and cucumber to the sauce and served it with plain soy yoghurt and hot mango chutney. My date was very impressed!
I just discovered this blog and I think you guys are doing amazing things! I'm definitely looking forward to more yummy recipes! I'm thinking I need to buy the book!
Hi! I just discovered your blog and I love it! Just what I'm looking for! I just started a blog about vegan food and allergies, I also draw my recipes. Maybe you're curious and have a look?
This sounds so exciting! I will be trying this very soon!!!
I have been following your blog for a while but just now created a new profile+blog on google. I don't think I have ever commented before but just thought I would tell you your blog is amazing. It is so original, very creative!
I must say that this is a great post..Really i am impressed from this post....the person who create this post it was a great human. I put a link to your blog at my site,
Mine tasted like chai tea with your recipe, but I added more salt and 2 red onions+ sprinkle of seasoned salt.I used only 2 big garlic cloves and teaspoon of olive oil, without tofu which I replaced with homemade almond silky cheese(mix of almond milk and thickener).I don't know what kind of curry spice do you use, maybe it has salt and different composition of spices?Mine has:tumeric, mustard, coriander, black pepper, garlic, chilli, ginger. So with this correction it turned out very tasty.Served it with cooked oats.

Cute! Tried it with a very ripe melon instead of watermelon. 7/10. Next time will add some onion too.
what an interesting sauce substitute!
What size watermelon are we talking? A regular grocery store large one or a baby one?

This makes about 2 servings, as do most of the recipes on the blog.
I can't find any watermelons right now in France. With what other fruit can I substitute it?
Thank you :)
Hi Anonymous,
Tomatoes will work well in this recipe. We also think that strawberries may work, but we have not tried this yet. It would be a daring experiment.
Hope this helps.
