That looks so good! And easy to make too. Definitely want to give it a try! You could easily transform this recipe into individual servings too which is great.

I recently used bananas to make a lean banoffee pie for my guy; it was a lovely choice for my banana cravings. Hahaha. =)

I made this recipe- it was so delicious! Seriously divine! You have to try it. I added cinnamon to the coconut milk and tossed some chopped walnuts in the mix, as well. Next time I would add vegan choc chips and strawberries.. it's so versatile the possibilities are endless. A scoop of vegan ice cream on top made it my favorite dessert to date!

This was the best thing ever! I didn't have coconut milk, so I tried it with almond and it was delicious. A bit soggy, but who cares!

What kind of bread did you use for this? It sounds so delicious!!!!

Hi Anonymous. We've used multigrain baguettes and French breads, but almost any vegan bread will do. Stale bread works really well with this recipe since it soaks up the most flavor.

Made this for breakfast this morning! It was DIVINE!!!! Vegan meals can be so involved and I love that your recipes are simple and so far delish! I have the lintel loaf in the oven as I type. (although I accidentally put the whole bag of lintels in the mix....two cups dry does not equal two cups cooked.....and had to try and take some out to fix it, then improvise on making it work...we shall see...sad thing is, I don't smoke :)) after this is the black bean balls (with refried beans...I'll let ya know)
Thank you so much for making being vegan a little less daunting.

This did not turn out well for me- I thought it was going to be great when I was making it, but it was missing something. I threw chocolate chips and roasted almonds on it when it was still really warm and even that didn't help it.

Hi Anonymous,

We're sorry you weren't happy with the outcome. We admit this is a simple recipe, and perhaps you were craving a more complex flavor. An easy add would be cinnamon. You could also add nutmeg or dried fruits, like raisins. We hope you end up finding or making something that fits your taste preference. If you do, let us know what it is.

Cheers,
The Vegan Stoners

OMG I just made this (can't believe we had a tin of coconut milk in the pantry) it was amazing. I used Splenda instead of sugar as we don't have in in our house. I also sprinkled cinnamon on it (it was Miss 8's request).

I found about your blog here:

Your book is now in my Amazon cart. It's perfect for a single mom of two. I made this banana cake the day after I saw it. I used unsweetened almond milk, agave, cinnamon, cardamom, and walnuts. This dish is absolutely divine. It's hot, rich, comfort food. Thank you.
